Roxane turns Sixteen

Roxane has done really well out of me for books this year. I sent her a big swag of the books that were nominated for the award I was judging so her shelves are groaning with recent YA fiction. But when it came to her sixteenth birthday present, I wanted to give her something classic, something I’d loved when I was sixteen way back when there wasn’t any such thing as YA fiction.

Colette
was a favourite. I savoured every word she wrote, especially the saucy reflections of Claudine.
