Short: A Collection Of Interesting Short Stories And Other Stuff From Some Surprisingly Intelligent People

Edited by Lili Wilkinson

The Rat Swallower, is the title of my contribution to this anthology. It tells the story a boy, a pair of pet rats, and a professional regurgitator working in a tent show in sideshow alley at an agricultural show in the 1930s.

Other authors represented in this collection include Andy Griffiths, Julia Lawrinson, Michael Panckridge and Kate Constable, just to name a few.

Reviews of Short

  • “If you enjoy short, snappy reads, this is the go! The stories have a wide range of themes including vampire socks, reports on well-known characters, dancing, hungry trees and conjoined twins. ‘The Rat Swallower’ by Kirsty Murray is truly memorable.”
